Error at startup: "Drag-to-Disc could not start because components necessary to run are missing. Please re-install Drag-toDisc"
Original Title: Drag-to-Disc errorMy notebook computer (Inspiron 6000 by Dell) has a problem with Drag-to-Disc.Please allow me to explain what happened. I recently had to re-install Windows due to a display problem (i.e., the screen goes completely black after showing the Windows logo during the start-up and Windows fails to launch). After talking to the Dell Tech Support, I re-installed the display adapter driver. And when it didn't work, I used the installation disk to repair the installed Windows. The repair seemed successful, except I received error messages during the Windows setup that had to do with "GetRequestedRuntimeVersion," "not found in dynamic link library," "mscoree.dll," and "mscorwks.dll." I repeated the repair twice just in case, but I received the same error messages.Well, after the repair, the computer seems to be working (, although I still have the same problem with the screen going dark during the start-up occasionally). But now, right after the successful(?) start-up, the Windows pops up a warning message: "Drag-to-Disc could not start because components necessary to run are missing. Please re-install Drag-toDisc."I tried to look up how to re-install Drag-to-Disc, but I could not find any info. Can anyone help me, please?

Hi Miko.Dell.Inspiron6000, Drag to Disc is a program from Roxio. Many users have reported this issue in Roxio Forums. Try to uninstall the program completely from your computer and check if you still receive this error message. Refer this link for more information. How to change or remove a program in Windows XPIf it's still the same after uninstalling the program, place your computer in Clean boot state to identify the application causing this issue.Putting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. If yes, you may have to contact the program manufacturer for any updates or uninstall and re-install the program. Here’s the article you may refer to for steps with reference to the same. Use this link if you are using Windows XP:How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" stateNote: After troubleshooting, make sure to put the computer to start as usual as mentioned here:To configure Windows to use a Normal startup stateAfter you used the clean boot to resolve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally. a. Click the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK.d.
